The Silchar Medical College & Hospital remains the only referral hospital in the southern part of Assam and so, is the sole custodian of health care system of the entire Barak Valley. Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) in Assam offers the MBBS program with the following fee structure:

Tuition Fees:

  • ₹22,000 for the entire duration of the MBBS course.

Additional Fees:

  • Admission Fee: ₹2,300 (one-time payment).

  • Counseling Charge: ₹1,000 (one-time payment).

  • Registration Fee: ₹5,000 (annual payment).

  • Examination Fee: ₹6,700 (for non-hostellers) or ₹9,700 (for hostellers) before the final professional examination. This includes:

    • Academic Fee: ₹5,000.

    • Annual Hostel Fee: ₹3,000 (for hostellers).

    • Tuition Fee: ₹1,200.

    • Library, Laboratory, and Miscellaneous Fees: Remaining amount.

Hostel Fees:

  • Approximately ₹24,000 per year.
