About Dhubri Medical College
Dhubri Medical College & Hospital, a Government Medical College in Dhubri district of Assam was established under Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Establishment of new Medical Colleges attached with existing district referral Hospital”. This is the 9 th Medical College in the state of Assam dedicated for health and welfare of the people of Assam. The college is located at R.K. Mission Road, Jhagrarpar, Dhubri which is approximately 290 km away from Dispur, the Capital of Assam. The foundation stone laying ceremony of the College was done on 17th February 2017 in an area of approximately 108 Bighas in presence of Hon’ble former Union Health Minister Sjt. J.P. Nadda, Hon’ble former Chief Minister of Assam Sjt. Sarbananda Sonowal, and Hon’ble former Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Dhubri shares International Border with Bangladesh in the West and interstate border with West Bengal. It possesses a diverse landscape with riverines, forests and hills. The river Brahmaputra is flowing from East to West encasing various riverine islands, making it more vibrant and beautiful. The District is well connected by airways, Railways and roadway. The Rupshi Airport is situated about 15 km away from Dhubri town. Dhubri depicts rich cultural heritage with various religious and racial groups. It has many places of historical importance that include Gurudwara, Panchpir Dargaha, Terracotta of Asharikandi, Mahamaya Dham, and Mosque of Rangamati.
The College is affiliated to Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Assam. With an intake seats of 100 undergraduate students, the college aims to produce Indian Medical Graduates as per national medical commission mandate. Tuition Fees: The annual tuition fee for the MBBS program is approximately ₹27,075.
