Government Medical College Alibag was established in 2021 so it is one of the new medical colleges in India. This is a co-educational institute established in Raigad, Maharashtra, and is an affiliated college, recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). It is a collegiate located in the RCF Colony of Kurul, Alibag and mainly provides one and only Medical course at undergraduate level. 

As a relatively new and fully government funded medical college, GMC Alibag stands for the government’s intention of increasing quality medical college seats in the region. The college has all the basic infrastructure that it requires to support its medical facility. Library is used by the learners in their education by offering them medical literature and any learning material they require. 

The college has very good features for IT equipment, and student research for the latest digital and learning materials is easy to access. Also, the institution provides departmental laboratories which are very vital in learning especially to students in the faculties of health. Government Medical College, Alibag currently provide only one course and that is the undergraduate course i.e.Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). This course is full-time and takes six years to complete, during which time the candidate is given a solid grounding in medical sciences. Today, the college has the approved sanctioned intake for MBBS student’s intake capacity of 100, this reveals the ability of the college in cultivating a moderate number of medical talents annually.
