Government Medical College, Manjeri also known as GMC Manjeri is a fully government controlled medical college in the Indian state of Kerala. The college is situated in the heart of the city of Manjeri in Malappuram District. The Nearest airport is Calicut which is 22 KM away from Manjeri and the nearest major railway station is Kozhikode (46 KM). The college was established in 2013 as the sixth medical college in Kerala, making it a relatively new addition to Kerala's network of medical colleges. The college was inaugurated on 1 September 2013 by Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. The college, is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), and has 500 beds and 12 operation theatres with an intake of 110 students for MBBS every year. This is the first medical college in the government sector in the State in 31 years, is a fulfillment of a long-cherished dream of the largest populated district in the Kerala state.
