Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU), Patna has been established by Government of Bihar for the development and management of educational infrastructure related to technical, medical, management and allied professional education in the state. The objective of the university is to promote the professional education infrastructure to meet the national standard through well advanced course, infrastructure and quality faculty. Bihar lacks in the infrastructure both in the terms of number of institutions and the quality of education. As a result Bihar state has become the major hub of students migrating to the others states for pursuing their education and carrier building for future growth.

Aryabhatta Knowledge University Act 2008 provides for the establishment of University at Patna to conduct and facilitate affiliation of institutions in the conventional as well new frontiers of professional education. All colleges and institutions imparting professional education for example Engineering and Technology including information Technology, Nano technology & Biotechnology, Management, Medicine, Health technology, Public Health Pharmacy, Optometry, Nursing, Education, Law etc. is to be affiliated to this university.

Technical Education had been a key priority in the state of Bihar, and it had established several prestigious Technical institutes in the State. The most prestigious institutes of the State, Bihar College of Engineering established in 1900, has been converted as centrally Funded Institute, namely National institute of Technology, Patna in February 2004. Other old & prestigious Institutions are Bhagalpur college of Engineering under Tilka Manjhi University, Bhagalpur and Muzaffarpur institute of Technology under BRBA Bihar University, Muzaffarpur. BIT Sindri, Which is now is state of Jharkhand, was also established by state of Bihar. These institutes offered high quality Technical Education, and their alumni today have achieved National and International Recognition.

MBBS Courses and Fees

  • The Tuition Fee for resident(General & Minority Category) Indians shall be 14,00,000 per annum and is charged for 4½ years. For the session 2024-25.
  • For Non -Resident Indian/Foreign and other students admitted on seats reserved for NRI the annual college fee shall be $ 25,000 (USD) per annum.
  • The Hostel & Mess Charge 3,50,000. is payable annually and is charged for 5½ years or duration of stay whichever is later. Centralized A.C. (Cool and Warm) along with other facilities and 24×7 electricity backup etc. are available for Boys and Girls Hostel which are separate. Students staying in the Hostel for more than the duration of the course either to failure in examination or extension of residency or any other reason shall be required to pay additional Hostel charge for their additional stay.
  • The student Transportation & Other charge of Rs.50,000  is payable annually and is charged for 5½ years.
  • Refundable Security Deposit Rs. 1,00,000 is payable at the time of admission one time and will be refunded on completion of internship after deducting damages/dues as the case may be.
  • A candidate once admitted in the college shall not be allowed to leave the college without paying the full Tuition Fee for the remaining period of the MBBS Course.
  • Fee will be deposited through Demand Draft in favor of Madhubani Medical College, payable at Madhubani.

Madhubani Medical College & Hospital Facilities

The Madhubani Medical College’s Hospital is permitted by Medical Council of India (Ministry of Health& Family Welfare), Government of India) by Letter No- MCI-34(41)(E-6)/2019- Med./115180 to take admission in MBBS course and affiliated to Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna, Bihar. The College building houses the administrative departments, Library, Lecture Hall the teaching laboratories and the Pre- Clinical and Para- Clinical departments with their museums and all ancillary facilities.

  • Library:The fully air-conditioned Central Library is located in the College Building. It consists of Inside & Outside reading halls with 150 seating capacity for students and separate reading room for Staff with 50 seating capacity. The digital Library consists of 40 latest generation Computers with Internet connectivity. The stack area consists of more than 3000 Books for reading and reference plus 15 Indian and 6 Foreign Journals.
  • Computer Lab:The Computer Lab consists of 40 Computers with high speed internet connectivity. The student and staff can access digital books and journals in the Lab.
  • Lecture Theatres:The College has two fully air-conditioned gallery type lecture theatres, with seating capacity of 200 each. All the lecture theatres are equipped with ultra -modern audio-visual teaching aids like LCD projectors, CCTV cameras, Computers, microphone and e -classroom facility.
  • Common Rooms:Separate common rooms are available in the college building for the boys and girls students. Common rooms are equipped with recreational, first aid, locker and retiring facilities, with attached toilets.
  • Demonstration Rooms:Demo Rooms are available in all Pre -Clinical, Para -Clinical and Clinical Departments. The demo rooms are well equipped with audio-visual aids, over head projectors and seating facility.
  • Laboratories:State of the art fully equipped laboratories for all departments are available in college building. Dissection Hall The 5000 square feet Dissection Hall is equipped with small and big Dissection tables and model and charts of Human sections for inclusive teaching of dissected parts of human body.
  • Skills Lab:A well-established lab is provided in safe environment with high fidelity models to ensure the students to learn, practice and performing skills in a simulated environment.inclusive teaching of dissected parts of human body.
  • Virology Lab BSL 2 Level:Fully functional Virology Lab approved by ICMR & NABL for testing of infectious diseases like corona virus, dengue and chikungunya is operational and is the only lab with RTPCR testing in the District.
  • Medical Education Unit (MEU):The process of teaching has advanced at a tremendous pace, especially in medical education. Earlier the good old didactic lectures were the common teaching methods but now the medical teacher has lots of options to choose from for imparting knowledge, skills and attitude to the students; many of these teaching techniques are aided by computer technology.Medical educationists are devising ways to make the process of teaching learning more enjoyable and impactful.
  • Dissection Hall:The Dissection Hall is equipped with small and big Dissection tables models and charts of Human sections for inclusive teaching of dissected parts of human body.
  • Central Research Lab:Provided with advanced equipment’s to support the research activities of students and faculty.
