I am honoured to address you as the Dean of Rajiv Gandhi govt. General Hospital & Madras Medical College, the most prestigious and the oldest institute in Asia with an impeccable heritage and having an illustrious reputation for the quality of its healthcare services, teaching excellence and innovation work. It is with great pleasure that I take a moment to update you on our recent achievements, our vision for the future, reflecting on our collective journey and looking forward to the promising path ahead.Our institution has its own legacy for 390 years, our hospital was established in 1664 during the period of East India Company and the Medical College was established in 1835. Our Institution remains as one of the oldest Medical Colleges in Asia and always stood for excellence, innovation, and community. Our college is a vibrant community of learners, educators, and professionals dedicated to excellence in education and research. I am proud to announce that we have our unique high-end advanced Bone-marrow Transplant unit and have achieved the highest number of 100 transplants with 30 children beneficiaries. Yet more unique services at its best are 24-hours-chestpain-clinic that has diagnosed patients in the golden hour saving lives, successful organ transplant team who have achieved the highest 26 successful retrievals and organ transplants. As our future mission, we are moving towards establishing the transplants of lung, pancreas and small intestine. These milestones are a testament to the dedication and hard work of our faculty, staff, nurses and students. We strongly emphasize the importance of comprehensive care in teamwork, empowered clinical skills and patient-centered, timely, safe, efficient, equitable delivery of our services. Through cutting-edge curriculum and hands-on experiences, we aim to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the evolving challenges of healthcare. We have created adequate platforms in extracurricular activities like Genesis-UG conference, Encierro for sports, cultutals, Tamil-Mandram, Ecoclub, Literary club, etc for boosting their inner talents with an aim to bring-in a positive growth mindset amongst them. We have a strong 76 years old National Cadet Corps unit and 35 years old National Societal Services unit which fosters the patriotism, Unity and Discipline.

MBBS Courses and Fees

  • Tuition Fees: ₹15,000 for the full MBBS course duration (5.5 years).
  • Additional Fees: There are small annual charges such as library fees (₹1,000), miscellaneous fees (₹100), and a one-time caution deposit of ₹1,000.
  • Other Annual Charges: Includes university fees (₹7,473), group insurance (₹300), and special fees for services like medical examinations (₹2,000).
